Purpose of the Program
The Leadership Academy is a year long program that intends to enhance the ministerial competence of young men and women (Ages 16-21) of the National Association of the Church of God through the integration of course work, partnering, and hands-on experience. Download Information Sheet (PDF)
Objectives of the Program
- Participants will explore various aspects of church leadership, theology, and history.
- Participants will indentify ways to nurture their spirituality.
- Participants will recognize their path to biblical greatness and beempowered to serve in ministry.
- Participants will feel a sense of ownership in the future of the NACOG.
- Participants will determine to offer their spiritual gifting and natural talentsto edify their local congregation church.
- Participants will connect with a mentor, their peers, and supporters from their local congregation.
Admission
Applications may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed as they are received. Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview after the submission of application materials. Accepted applicants will be notified via U.S. mail.
The number of persons admitted annually is limited. Therefore, applications that are approved after the maximum has been reached will be placed on a priority list for admission with the next class of students.

Financial Matters
The Leadership Academy requires the student, his or her local congregation, and the NACOG to covenant in ways that all parties mutually benefit from the student’s enrollment.
Therefore, the student’s local congregation is encouraged to pay the non-refundable tuition cost of $200 per student, which covers the expense of all three sessions during the year.
The local congregation is also encouraged to pay the student’s transportation cost to and from all three sessions.
The NACOG will cover all room and board expenses and instructional costs.

Reflective Practicum
Taught by Dr. Kevin W. Earley. This course provides an orientation to the program. It also offers an ongoing framework for students to connect with a
mentor, their peers, and a fundamental ministry experience.
Principles of Servant Leadership
Taught by Rev. Charles Myricks. This course lays the groundwork for biblical Christian leadership.
Spiritual Formation
Taught by Rev. Clifton McDowell. This course focuses on a wholistic spirituality and practical ways to enhance one’s own spiritual health.

Taught by Dr. James Lewis. This course surveys critical theological understandings, including the nature of God, man, and the church.
Church Organization/Operations
Taught by Dr. Ronald Fowler. This course explores various aspects of
church administration.
International COG Convention—Anderson, IN (June 25-27, 2010)
Reflective Practicum (Continued)
Team Building/Conflict Resolution
Taught by Dr. David Sebastian. This course examines community building and managing relational conflict.
Financial Management
Taught by Rev. James Brown. This course provides the tools to manage personal and project finances.
